– Little or no salt deposits
– Typically starts 500 -1000m from breaking surf

ISO Category 4

Severe

– Light salt deposits
– Typically starts 100 – 500m
from breaking surf

ISO Category 5

Very Severe

– Very heavy salt deposits
– Almost constant smell of salt spray
– Typically starts 50 – 100m from
breaking surf
